The Jókai Theatre welcomes the participants of the Hungarian showcase
We thank all the volunteers for organising internationally known, recognised professionals’ visits to Hungary to get to know our theatrical life, our system of operation, the company and the artistic production of our theatre. Basic data of the Jókai Theatre: 130-year-old building, preserved and maintained with extraordinary care having our own repertory company about 100 employees 15 employed actors, 17 contracted actors and 15-20 guest actors – annually costume production in our own workshops set painting and decoration in our own workshops costume wardrobe with more than 15,000 costumes 11 new premier productions – annually 60,000 paying spectators – annually further 20,000 non-paying spectators producing and running significant educational programmes, 4 productions especially related to the material of schools – annually operating an own theatrical school to teach the theatre backstage jobs The population of the town is: 752 people The area to be supplied: 5631 km² Regional audience to be supplied: about 500,000 people
